Dr. Andre Hagehülsmann: "Microsoft Research and Academia - Partners in Innovation"

Abstract:
In 1991, Microsoft Corp. established Microsoft Research. Its mission is to expand the state of the art in each of the computer science and engineering areas where Microsoft Research is doing research in order to rapidly transfer innovative technologies into Microsoft products. This is to ensure that Microsoft has a future. The University Relations program of Microsoft Research aims at building world class partnerships with Universities to inspire technological innovation, enhance the teaching and learning experience, and to help Microsoft become a leading technology partner for higher education. This talk will discuss some of the collaboration possibilities.

Cambridge Andre Hagehülsmann is Freie Universitaet Berlin and Universitaet Münster alumni.
From 1990 until 1998 his research was about very large spatial databases and geospatial algorithms. He is now with Microsoft Research, Cambridge - his responsibility is University Relations in Central and Eastern Europe.
