Pavel Zezula

Short CV:
Pavel Zezula is a Professor at the Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic. He teaches courses on database systems and indexing techniques for non-traditional data types. He supervises 6 PhD students. His current research interests include storage structures, similarity search, parallel data processing, XML searching and distributed processing. He has a long record of co-operation with the CNR in Pisa and has participated in several EC projects: MULTOS (ESPRIT No. 28), FIDE (ESPRIT BRA No. 3070), HERMES (ESPRIT LTR No. 9141), and DELOS Working Group (ESPRIT LTR NO. 21057), SCHOLNET (IST-1999-20664), and DELOS NoE (IST-1999-12262). He has been Program Committee Member (Chairman) of several prestigious international conferences (EDBT, VLDB, ACM SIGMOD). He has publications in top-level journals (ACM TODS, ACM TOIS, VLDB Journal), books, and conference proceedings (VLDB, ACM PODS, EDBT).
