SOFSEM 2017 is over.

We are looking forward to meeting you at the next SOFSEM.

SOFSEM (SOFtware SEMinar) is the annual international winter conference devoted to the theory and practice of computer science. SOFSEM aims to present the latest results and developments in research in academia and industry, in leading areas of computer science. The first SOFSEM was organized already in 1974.

TRAVEL ALERTIf you are travelling to Ireland via a UK airport, please double check for the latest updates at https://www.gov.uk/transit-visa/visitor-in-transit-visa. Some nationalities need transit visa arriving at UK airports and continue to Ireland, even though they do not leave the airport.

Program SOFSEM consists of Invited Talks by prominent researchers, Contributed Talks selected from the submitted papers, and the Student Research Forum. The program is organized in plenary talks and parallel tracks devoted to original research in the selected research areas.

ProceedingsThe SOFSEM 2017 proceedings containing all invited and contributed papers will be published in the series Lecture Notes in Computer Science by Springer Verlag, in the prestigious subline ARCOSS: Advanced Research in Computing and Software Science.

SOFSEM 2017 Tracks Papers presenting original research are sought on all topics of interest in the following tracks:

Submissions Authors are invited to submit a paper of no more than 12 pages in LNCS format no later than August 10, 2016, following the Instructions for Authors. See the Important Dates for further details.

Student Research Forum The SOFSEM 2017 Student Research Forum (SRF) will provide young researchers with valuable scientific feedback and networking. Master and PhD students are invited to present their research ideas and projects, discuss them with the scientific community, and establish collaborations in their field of research.
Slovak Society for Computer Science is a sponsor of the Best Student Paper Award with the allocated amount of 250 Euro.

Host Organization Lero (The Irish Software Engineering Research Centre) brings together leading software engineering (SE) teams from Universities and Institutes of Technology in a coordinated centre of research excellence with a strong industry focus. Lero has raised the level and profile of Irish software engineering research with such effect that it is now one of the best known and highly regarded SE research centres in the world.

Venue SOFSEM has a long-standing tradition of facilitating discussions and collegial interactions. SOFSEM is well-known for its familiar and inspiring atmosphere, and as a meeting place for active and leading computer scientists. SOFSEM 2017 will be held in Limerick, the capital of Ireland’s Mid-West region with an urban and hinterland population of over 200,000 and is noted for its shopping, its dining and entertainment, its historical significance, as well as its contributions to the arts.
