graduated from Ecole Centrale of Paris (French "Grande Ecole") and received a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Paris XI-Orsay in 1989. He joined the Institut National des Telecommunications (France Telecom University) in 1989 as a Professor in charge of the Distributed Systems research group. Since 1994, he is Head of the Computer Department of the Institute.
