Does SSADM Meet the Requirements of Software Development Methods in the 1990's?

The 90's has seen a rapid expansion in application development approaches and the range of IT implementation options. At the same time, business users are increasingly frustrated with the ability of their IT departments to build applications that meet their needs. The first half of the presentation will describe the general characteristics of SSADM within the broader context of software development best practice and the issues being faced by developers. The second part of the presentation will consider in more detail the characteristics of SSADM, the extent to which these characteristics are compatible with alternatives to structured methods, and how SSADM needs to be modified for different target environments.
