Getting to

Whatever way you come to Limerick – by plane, train, bus, boat or car – it is easily accessible. Situated just over 2 hours from Dublin City (M7) and 1.5 hours from Cork (N20) and Galway (N18), Limerick’s location on Ireland’s West Coast can be effortlessly reached via all major roads.

Bus services

Bus Eireann – Provides connections to and from all of Ireland’s major cities. Furthermore, frequent direct coach services between Shannon Airport and Limerick City.

In Limerick, Bus Eireann route 304 takes you every 15 mins (Mon-Fri) or 30 mins (Sat-Sun) from Colbert Station or the City Center to the Castletroy Hotel and UL (3 stops on campus).

By air

Shannon Airport

The Shannon International Airport is located 15 miles from Limerick. There are scheduled services from North America, Europe and the UK serving the airport on a daily basis with all the main international carriers. These include Aer Lingus, United Airlines, Delta Airlines and Ryanair.

Bus to Limerick and UL

From Shannon Airport there are frequent bus services to Limerick (N. 51 and N. 343, currently 8.40€ one way and 15.70€ return, valid 1 month from the date of purchase).

Dublin Airport is 120 miles (200 km) north-east of Limerick and it is Ireland's main airport. The M7 and M50 motorways connect Limerick all the way thorough to Dublin Airport.

Bus transfers to Limerick

The bus coach is often the most comfortable and convenient city to city public transportation. Coaches are usually modern and comfortable, and offer free WiFi on board.

Dublin Coach – Express service between Limerick and Dublin in 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Bus transfers to Dublin City and Heuston Rail Station

There are many bus services that connect Dublin Airport to Heuston Rail Station including Airlink Express which are operated by Dublin Bus. The journey takes some 40 minutes and a one way trip costs:

The journey from Dublin Airport to Limerick takes in average 2 hours on the newly opened M7 motorway.
